In collaboration with students from the education community, a team of New Zealand fashion industry experts, led by Kiri Nathan, reimagined the graduation gown. Unchanged for over 900 years, it is the most iconic symbol of education worldwide.

Enter Te Kākahu Hou.

The concept was designed to reflect the connection to Māori culture, respect for nature, and innovative ways of thinking that define the New Zealand education experience.

To introduce Te Kākahu Hou to the world, eight personalised garments were gifted to international students. Their stories and the design process featured as part of a global content campaign – spanning across digital and social channels, PR and events.
